
HOLOmicrobiome
Since 2025 I joined the Athena Institute at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. My main research revolves around the HOLOmicrobiome Program. Connecting to m Connecting to my diverse, interdisciplinary background, I do research in different areas (justice, alternative economic approaches, political economy). However, my focus currently lies on transformative learning and reflexivity.

Just Transformations
Since 2024 I am co-coordinator of the Ju-ST Thematic Group of the Sustainability Transitions Research Network (STRN).
While working at VITO (team Nexus), I focused on justice aspects within sustainability transitions.
This topics has since become one of my focus areas.

Transformative Bioeconomies
Between September 2022 adn August 2024, I worked for Wageningen Universtiy at the Knowledge, Technology and Innovation Group (KTI). There I focused on the role of inter- and transdisciplinay research to support the transition towards the circular-, bio-, and carbon-economy. Focus areas were textiles and building materials.

Energy Transition Lab
Between January 2021 and August 2022 I worked for Delft University of Technology. There I was part of the TPM Energy Transition Lab, where I worked on how a transformation towards sustainability can be supported through a better understanding of human behavior and behavioral change.

SUFISA
During my PhD at Hasselt University, I worked on a Horizon 2020 project called SUFISA. This acronym stands for sustainable finance for sustainable agriculture and fisheries. The project ended in 2019. While my tasks encompassed many different things, my main research focus was on market power and sustainability.
